I’ve been hearing a lot about ‘The Real World: DC’ over the past few months.

Most of it has been pretty negative. Honestly, all I can really think is that I’m pretty apathetic about it. It’s almost ‘too late’ in a sense. Hell, I haven’t watched MTv for a long time because I miss…what are those things called?…music videos.

Anyhow, I watched the “Real World” when it first aired back in 1992 and the new age of reality television was in its infancy. The first Real World in New York was amazing back then. If I remember correctly the people were put in their fancy house but they still had jobs and what not. And then they moved on…

Hells yeah, Heather B.’s All Glocks Down…

She was like a nice mix of KRS-One and MC Lyte.

Oh, and who can forget Eric Nies and MTv’s ‘The Grind’

Dude, that was the only clip I could find of Eric Nies on anything like the Grind. Chillax.

The last one that I watched was Real World London. After that it started getting pretty old and tired. Plus, they were given jobs or ‘tasks’. Meh. Real world indeed. After that it seemed like people finally caught on to what the Real World was about and they played up to the drama. Bleh. The tinderbox of spontaneity was diluted by douchebags. Even though the cast is followed by cameramen and sound people throughout their time together, almost everything seems contrived.

Meh. I’ll stick to staring at a blank wall.
