It's Worse. I'm Blabbering.

It's like being stuck in an elevator with a very annoying person.

Kids are fat. Adults are stupid.

Saturday was my bi-annual paintball gathering.  26 people came by to romp through the woods and get pelted by paintballs travelling at a speed of 290 ft/sec.  For all the good times there is one universal truth to the event: MY ASS IS TIRED. AND IT IS ALREADY TUESDAY AND I’M STILL BRUISED. If you’re […]

Quick update on my parents and my sister: My dad was released to the hotel today – which is good – and my sister is coming home on Friday. She hates having to leave my parents there but she has to come home and take care of her work, her home, etc. She may return. […]

Update on my dad…

Written by Puzzlehead, in Family, General

Here’s an update on my dad from my sister: Dad is now having cardiac rehab/physical therapy every other day. He did well after his 1st day but slept most of the night because he was tired from exercising. He’s still too weak to walk on his own but he does sit in chair and is […]

Scoop out my brains. Now

I’ve got three words for you: The Wedding Date. I love Debra Messing. I think she’s hot. Well, I thought she was hot. After a few years she really can’t get away with playing the cutesy, cosmopolitan chick like she did on Seinfeld or even the early years of Will & Grace. But, man…decided to […]

Update: I text messaged my sister, who is with my parents, in the Philippines yesterday. Since my dad was too fragile to undergo a triple bypass they ended up giving him an angioplasty. They were able to unblock and open up one of three blood vessels (the other two were too small an may have […]

Cinematic cultural divide

Written by Puzzlehead, in General

HAHAHA F*ING HA! Over the past few weeks I made Angela watch some movies with me that she normally wouldn’t watch. I’m sure I’ve written in the past how our tastes in television and movies are different – I like funky things and she likes crap – so my control of the dvd player and […]

Please, come home soon.

Many people are remember that my father went through some really tough times in 2001. He was in the Intensive Care Unit at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital from February through August of that year. It was a very rough time for the entire family but we all had faith that he would pull through, even […]

Why does this always happen to me?

Written by Puzzlehead, in General

Oh, man. Today, I really had to use the bathroom. REALLY had to use the bathroom. Three cups of coffee, a diet Pepsi and a diet Coke later, my bladder was full beyond belief and I needed to wizz like a horse.  I started getting one of those really anxious feelings of ‘Am I even […]

Me and the pooches and the cats will be spending it at home alone tonight because Angela is off to Florida on a business trip. So, if you’re a hooker or a stripper feel free to contact me 🙂 It will […]

Pip, pip! Tea time!

Written by Puzzlehead, in General

Yeah, yeah – I’m late posting. Bite me. Last Thursday was ‘Tea Time’ at the Four Seasons. This time around there were only four of us: Me, Lila, Rhonda and Angela. The ladies were so gracious as to allow me to bring Angela, even though she didn’t meet any of the requirements (brunette, over the […]

My Appreciation For The Pony Tail

Written by Puzzlehead, in General

It bobs up and down. It sways back and forth. It is utterly mesmerizing. No, I’m not talking about my love handles, jackals. I’m talking about a pony tail. On a woman, not on an actual pony.

More television blubber

I’ve finished watching the SuperBowl ads on ifilms. Oy. I must say that the Budweiser one where the little Clydesdale is pulling the beer wagon (mp4) is my favorite. For whatever reason Angela says that it reminds her of Tobey. I think that it really is just very well done and grabs the viewer emotionally. […]

Attention Deficit Dis…Look! A helicopter!

Written by Puzzlehead, in General

Have you ever had one of those days where you really wanted to talk about something but you just plain forgot what it was? Perhaps a little nugget of information that tweaked your interest that you thought would make for decent conversation that suddenly went ‘poof’ in your head. That happens to me a lot. In fact, that’s happening to me now!

SELL ME SOMETHING NOW!

This weekend is the Super Bowl. Yeah, yeah. Who cares. I could give a rat’s ass less about the Seattle Seahawks vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. I’m interested in the commercials.

The Dinner Club

Written by Puzzlehead, in General

So none of us are as engaging as the kids from the movie ‘The Breakfast Club’. We have no Molly Ringwald or Emilio Estevez or Judd Nelson. It seems like we’ve got plenty of Anthony Michael Halls, though. But there we were the other night at Zatinya; former colleagues breaking bread and catching up with […]

The Joys And Pains of Food

I’m a lucky man. And a stupid man. Whichever is the greater of the two is something that you can decide. Screw you guys who are thinking ‘I’ll take “Stupid” for $1000, Alex’!

Time to buy a crate of oranges.

I read this today: The F.P.E.S. 0.0 – 1.1.0 , the Feline Protection and Enhancement System, and I immediately had visions of buying a crate of oranges for my cats. And melons and pumpkins for my dogs. Oh, yes…an army of food wearing animals will someday be mine…

Friends in low places

So, I read this today Seminal sitcom Friends is returning to television after each of its six stars agreed multi-million dollar deals to star in four one-hour specials. In a secret meeting before Christmas, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry reportedly agreed a $5 million apiece deal with […]

H.I.T.

Written by Puzzlehead, in General

Lord, please help me. I’m suffering from H.I.T. – Hair In Transition. You know what I’m talking about. It is that point where your hair is in between being long and short and you just don’t know what direction you want it to go. Oh, and for all you guys out there who say that this topic is somewhat fey, you can suck my ass. You know you’ve fallen into this predicament before.

I’m an ass. Hands down, I’m an ass. OH! HANDS DOWN MY ASS! No, no…I can’t stand taking pictures. I really hate them. I feel stupid standing there waiting for a picture to be taken. So, I reckon that if I’m going to feel stupid then I may as well act stupid. I don’t think […]

Sunday was a fun day. Angela, Rob, Amy and I went to the National Zoo to see the baby panda. I think its name is Tae Kwon Do or something (ok, ok! Yeesh! Tai Shan! Freaking panda lovers!). It was a freezing day with winds of up to a kajillion miles an hour. We were determined to see the ball of fuzz and see what all the fuss was about.

Signs of aging – music in commercials

Written by Puzzlehead, in Entertainment, General

I don’t know if I’m getting more and more sensitive to getting older. Well, that’s a lie. I AM getting sensitive to it. One of the things that struck me as a sign of the impending Apocalypse was the use of music in commercials. You know that moment when you have a realization that ‘Oh, My God! I know that song! I love that song!’ and then it dawns on you that you love the music because it was played during your youth. That’s what I’m talking about. What’s worse is when the music becomes bastardized.
