Ok, let’s see – all major political parties whittled down to their best candidates? Check. Debates have taken place? Check. Elections completed? Check. Historic inauguration and new president begins work? Done.

With all that said and done and out of the way I can’t wait for…oh, I dunno…people to shut up about politics.

We’ve been inundated for the past two years with the comings and goings of this last American election that it feels like, for better or worse, we can finally sit back, exhale and get back to work. Sure, pundits from the left and from the right will start scrutinizing what our newly elected president does with utmost glee. But can we wait until Obama has actually had time in office for people to pass judgement on what type of administration he’ll have?

I could care less whether or not we elected Obama, John McCain or Wile E. Coyote. I’m sick and tired of both conservative and liberal trolls bitching and complaining. What’s worse is when they say they want our president to fail, based solely on the belief that their party or values are THE one and only way that America can be successful.

You want our president to fail? What kind of idiot are you? You would really want this administration to fail the American people more than the way the last administration did?

I’ll admit that I’m proud to be an American. As such I NEVER want my president to fail. Why? Because the failure of the President means the failure of the United States of America. Get that through your thick, fucking heads.

Maybe I’m being far too naive about how politics and society works. This Administration hasn’t even had the opportunity to get settled and demonstrate whether or not it is capable of flipping on the light switch at the White House much less getting to the business of restoring the United States to prominence.

Everyone should just shut their cake hole so that we could see the direction the Obama administration takes us and then pass judgement.
