I was at home this weekend with Angela trying to sort out my media collection on our network. Wow. We’ve got quite a collection of…uh…stuff. It was a nice stroll down memory lane going through some of this. Especially when I hit the movie “Hackers”.

It was interesting reliving some of the techno babble of the time, such as callinig out and identifying the crayola/rainbow books, seeing everyone rollerblade all over place, checking out the contemporary fashions of the time and reminiscing when the world of technology was a little simpler.

Here’s a good example: at one point all the protagonists are marvelling over Angelina Jolie’s laptop. It was pretty quaint when they went “ooh” and “ahh” over the fact that it had a 28.8kbps modem.

Again, for those of you in the back who may not have heard me – A 28.8kbps MODEM. And it had a P6 chip in it. Oooh..let’s not forget the VGA monitor.

During this age of FIOS, WiFi and, yes, my trusty little iphone (I’m using the WordPress app to type this on the train) you take for granted the monumental leaps and bounds that we’ve taken in as few as a dozen years.
