Well, Angela got her iPhone. She stood in line for 2 hours on Friday at the AT&T store where she said she was good riends with a sales person. When it was all said and done she came home…with nothing. She was #70 in line and they ran out much earlier. She was, to say the least, bummed.
From Friday night until this morning I got to listen to her opine about the entire situation.
This morning I waltzed into the Apple store, went to the register and asked for the 8GB phone. In less than 5 minutes I was done and out the door. Angela was once again a happy camper.Total cost? 628 bucks in 5 minutes.
I decided that I’ll still wait for a second generation of this phone to get one. I considered picking up a second or third iPhone for kicks. I’m sure that I’ll have the opportunity to configure it the way she wants it to work.
I will say that it is significantly thinner than my 8525. We’ll see how the typing on the virtual keyboard works out tonight.
On a message board that I frequent there was one member who kept bitching and moaning about the phone before it was even released. It kills me when people bitch and moan and try to pass themself off as an authority on a subject that they have no experience with. When pressed for which smartphone/PDA he had he replied with ‘I don’t have one. But I help my friends enter their contacts in theirs.’ Stupid.
And trust me – after my experience in North Carolina I’m a lot more wary of people who say they’ve got extensive experience or that they are experts.
On the plus side, My happy hour on Thursday was a great success. It lasted until about 8pm. My colleagues were amazed to see me sitting at my desk at 7am considering the amount of hooch we consumed. The frightening part? A few of my colleagues called me ‘The Man’. Dear Lord. I even kept it relatively tame.
So far, after the Hell of the past few months, things are looking spectacular. Angela has her shiny, new gadget, I’ve got my cadre of girlfriends throuout the area, work is going great and I’m home.
Shit. I have to go to the dentist this month…
628 bucks!?! Do you know how many pedicures I could get with that amount of money? 😉
