Angela hates that I’m always ahead of the curve on neat things. Why? I dunno. Maybe it has something to do with me rubbing it in her face that I usually hear about or see the cool things before her. Here is a list of some of the cool stuff that I just have to buy sometime soon…

USB TV Tuner
I first saw reference to one of these things on Akihabara News

Here comes the new Buffalo USB digital TV tuner allowing you to record your favorite TV shows on the hard disk of your computer. It measures 59x18mm and weights 12g.

Logitec came out with one but, according to Akihabara News, you can’t record anything. Hence, I’m jonesing for the Buffalo version. There are other makers of similar products too. In a nutshell, you plug it into your computer and all of a sudden you can yank down those free network television signals being broadcast all over the place. There is software that is included with the hardware that allows you to turn your laptop/pc into a DVR (TiVo). Also, if you’re near some live coax you can connect either cable or satellite to your pc. I think it would be nifty to have while travelling. Well, if I actually travelled.

Glow In The Dark Pebbles
With Halloween coming up I thought it would be nifty to get these glow in the dark pebbles for Angela. You buy a couple bags of it, let them sit out in the sun and then watch as your yard becomes some weird alien terrain. The downfall? One bag has only 350 pieces at a cost of $9.99. We bought river rocks for $5.99/50lb. bag. I sincerely doubt this will be a 50 lb. bag. They look more like jellybeans. The coolness factor is still pretty high, though. Think of all the little kids that will walk up to our house on Halloween and try to scarf them down. That’s right, child. Eat the glowing rock. They’re good for you. And take a picture of your toilet after you go. That will probably freak you out.

Think of all the really spiffy pranks that you could pull during the daytime too. You can now spell out that you love someone on their front yard. Or call them a tramp. You choose. I’m not too pickey.

Cabela’s Giant Fish Pillow
Who wouldn’t want this
??

At 4 ft. long and packed well beyond the gills with super-soft polyester filling, these giant pillows bring new meaning to the term “stuffed fish.” They’re perfect for anglers of all ages, and make great partners for lounging on the couch and even in bed. The soft polyester/cotton fabric covering is easily washed. Available: Bluegill, Northern Pike, Walleye, Marlin, Largemouth Bass.

Trust me, I’ve got more stuff to post that’s sitting in the back of my head. I just have to go to bed now. I have yet another trip to North Carolina in the morning. Luckily, there isn’t a speeding ticket involved 🙂
