Angela and I have always thought about having a little girl. You know, someone to take care of that will look up to you with big brown eyes. Someone that you can adorn with little pink bows and watch as she grows older. Last week Angela and I were overjoyed when we found out that we will finally have that beautiful little girl.

And her name will be Jinx.

We are adopting this little girl because her current owners have made the tough decision to give her up. She’s a Golden Retreiver, a little on the plump side, and full of energy. I’ll post pics/vids of her tonight so that you can see what she looks like playing with our dogs. She is a complete snuggle-bunny and all she wants is to make you happy, run around and laugh. She’ll fit in well at our home.

Which reminds me – Sam and his wife finally got approval to adopt a Tibetan terrier that they will name “JD”, short for Jack Daniels.  They’ve got bad allergic reactions to dogs so they were looking for one that was…uh…hypoallergenic?? Well, they got one. I offered them my services if they needed anything – books, advice, petsitting  which I hope they’ll take advantage of.  I think this is their first dog (the only other pet that I know Sam had in his past was a duck…that his cousin killed and ate). I know it is their first one together.

Shame on all of you who thought I was talking about a human baby 😉  Although I’m more open to having kids these days, the trips to IHOP on a weekend morning is a nice reminder that it probably isn’t time yet.
